Suraj Mandir, also called Surya Mandir, stands close to Triveni Ghat in Prabhas Patan and is dedicated to the Sun God and his consort Chhaya Devi. Built in the Maru-Gurjara architectural style, the temple's pillars and walls carry intricate carvings of elephants, lions, and other figures from a bygone era. Like the Somnath Temple itself, it suffered repeated plundering and invasion through history. Though weathered today, it remains a striking reminder of the region's long devotional past.
