Dehotsarg Tirth

The riverside spot believed to mark where Lord Krishna left his mortal body.

Dehotsarg Tirth sits on the banks of the Hiran River, about two kilometers from the Somnath Temple, marking the place where Krishna is believed to have finally departed his human form after the incident at Bhalka. The temple holds a graceful tribhangi idol of Krishna playing his flute, along with a carved footprint commemorating the moment. An ancient cave within the complex, Dauji-ni Gufa, is associated with Balaram, Krishna's elder brother. Sunsets here over the river are considered especially beautiful.
