Kuthar Fort

An 800 year old hill fort near Solan blending Mughal and Rajput architecture, with secret tunnels and a spring.

Kuthar Fort dates back roughly 800 years and stands about thirty four kilometers from Solan, its oldest sections reflecting a blend of Mughal and Rajput architectural styles. Built atop a hill near the Jubbarhatti airport road, the fort retains a royal character with hidden tunnels and a natural spring still flowing within its walls. Largely untouched by mass tourism, Kuthar rewards visitors with a quieter look at Himachal's princely state history than better known forts in the region.
