Jatoli Shiv Temple

A towering Shiva shrine near Solan, celebrated as one of Asia's tallest, with dramatic Dravidian style architecture and a sacred cave.

Jatoli Shiv Temple rises on a hillside about eight kilometers from Solan, its three pyramid shaped towers reaching over a hundred feet into the sky. Built from the 1970s under the guidance of Swami Krishnananda Paramhans, the temple blends Dravidian and Indo Aryan styles and is widely regarded as one of the tallest Shiva temples in Asia. Inside, a natural cave draws pilgrims who believe Lord Shiva once rested here, while carved deities line each tier of the towers.
