Swastika Vihara was excavated in the 1950s and takes its name from the aerial layout of its foundations, which trace a swastika pattern. The site yielded a Buddha statue along with an image of Padmapani holding a fly whisk, both now part of the wider Sirpur artifact record. Its unusual plan sets it apart from the rectangular viharas found elsewhere on the site. The monastery adds to the picture of Sirpur as a major center of Buddhist monastic life.
