Rama Temple lies less than 100 meters southeast of the Lakshmana Temple and survives mostly as a foundation outline today. Its star shaped jagati platform is thought to date to around 600 AD, making it one of the earliest examples of this design in central India. Scholars suggest it may have served as an experimental model before more elaborate stellate temples were built elsewhere along the Mahanadi. An adjacent outline nearby is locally believed to be a paired Lakshmana shrine.
