Gorumara National Park is a compact park of grassland and forest in the Dooars, at the foothills of the Himalayas in northern West Bengal. Established as a national park in 1992, it is known for its greater one horned rhinoceros, along with elephants, gaur, deer, peafowl and a wide range of birds, and the Murti and Jaldhaka rivers flow along its edges.

Most visitors stay around Lataguri, the village at the park's edge, and see the park on jeep safaris to the watchtowers inside the forest. Safari permits are issued by the West Bengal Forest Department; check current timings before you travel.

  • How to Reach: Lataguri, the usual entry, is about 75 km from Siliguri. New Mal Junction is the nearest railway station and Bagdogra the nearest airport.
