Bengal Safari Park

A 297-hectare wildlife safari park inside the Mahananda Wildlife Sanctuary, 8 km from Siliguri, where visitors can see Bengal tigers, Asiatic black bears, rhinoceroses, and other wildlife on jeep safaris through sal forest.

Bengal Safari Park, officially the North Bengal Wild Animals Park, is located inside the Mahananda Wildlife Sanctuary about 8 km from Siliguri on Sevoke Road. Spread across 297 hectares of sal forest, it is one of the largest wildlife parks in eastern India and offers jeep safaris through different enclosures housing Bengal tigers, leopards, Asiatic black bears, one-horned rhinoceroses, and deer.

The park was established to offer a structured wildlife experience without venturing deep into protected forest. Beyond the safari, the surrounding Mahananda Wildlife Sanctuary - established in 1976 and covering 158 sq km between the Teesta and Mahananda rivers - is home to elephants, deer, and rich birdlife.

Best visited between October and March when weather is pleasant. Safari timings and booking should be confirmed before visiting as slots fill quickly on weekends.
