Chavadi

Baba's alternate-night resting place and site of the weekly Thursday palki procession.

Chavadi was the second home Sai Baba used on alternate nights throughout his life in Shirdi, a modest hall where he rested after long days at Dwarkamai. The wooden seat on which Baba sat and the bed believed to have witnessed his last bath are preserved here. Every Thursday night, a grand procession carries Baba's portrait and palki from Dwarkamai to Chavadi, recreating the ritual he followed himself, drawing devotees who walk alongside singing devotional songs and offering their faith.
