Laitlum Grand Canyon, meaning 'end of hills' in Khasi, sits at 7,464 feet in the East Khasi Hills about 24 km from Shillong and delivers some of the most dramatic canyon panoramas in Northeast India. A grassland ridge overlooking deep green valleys transitions into a steep trail of nearly 3,000 stone steps descending to the secluded village of Rasong below. A 270-degree viewpoint along the route frames four nearby waterfalls. Visit late morning to beat the fog.
