Lady Hydari Park

Well-kept park with trails and greenery.

Lady Hydari Park, also known as Ka Phan Nonglait Park, is a Japanese-style landscaped garden established in 1937 in the heart of Shillong. Named after the wife of Assam's Governor Sir Akbar Hydari and renamed in 2023 to honour Khasi resistance fighter Ka Phan Nonglait, the 15-acre park is known for its manicured flower beds of orchids, rhododendrons, and roses. A Central Zoo Authority-registered mini zoo houses Himalayan black bears, leopards, serows, hornbills, and porcupines, making it especially popular with families.
