Cathedral of Mary Help of Christians is the principal seat of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Shillong, perched on a raised plateau in Laitumkhrah with commanding views of the city. Originally established by Salvatorian missionaries from Germany in 1913, the current structure was rebuilt after a fire in 1936 and features a distinctive sky-blue facade, soaring Gothic arches, vivid stained glass windows, and an underground chapel. The annual feast on 24 May draws large gatherings of pilgrims from across the Northeast.
