Botanical Gardens

Botanical Gardens, situated alongside Ward's Lake near the heart of Shillong, is a well-maintained garden preserving a rich collection of indigenous plants, orchids, and rare Meghalayan flora. Managed under the Botanical Survey of India, the garden descends in terraced levels through ancient trees and cobblestoned pathways. A small aviary adds to the experience with colourful native bird species on display. It pairs naturally with a visit to Ward's Lake immediately across the road, making both a single easy half-day outing.
