Srijani Shilpagram

Srijani Shilpagram near Santiniketan is a craft village and artisan centre established to preserve and promote the traditional crafts of Bengal and India. The complex features studios and workshops of master artisans working in clay, terracotta, leather, textiles, bamboo, and metal. Visitors can watch artisans at work, purchase directly from craftspeople, and participate in craft workshops. The annual Poush Mela (December fair) at Santiniketan, one of Bengal's most celebrated cultural fairs, features the Shilpagram as a primary venue for craft exhibitions and sales. The centre embodies Tagore's vision of connecting education, art, and rural livelihoods.
