Zones 6 to 10 lie in the buffer of Ranthambore National Park, around the core zones. Dry forest, rocky hills, grassland and water holes here also hold tigers, leopards, sloth bears, deer and many birds, and these zones are often easier to book than the core when demand is high.
The buffer zones stay open during the monsoon from July to September, when the core zones are closed, so they are the only Ranthambore safaris available in those months. Safaris run in morning and afternoon shifts in gypsies and canters. Book on the Rajasthan Forest Department portal, fmdss.forest.rajasthan.gov.in.
