Rudraprayag Sangam

Sacred confluence of the Alaknanda and Mandakini rivers, one of the five Panch Prayags of Uttarakhand.

Rudraprayag Sangam marks the point where the Alaknanda and Mandakini rivers meet, one of the five revered Panch Prayags along the Alaknanda's course. Hindu tradition holds that Shiva appeared here in his Rudra form, giving the town its name. A dip at the confluence is considered spiritually cleansing, and the ghats along the riverbank offer a quiet spot to pause during the Kedarnath and Badrinath yatra route.
