Chotiwala

Chotiwala anchors the ghats of Swarg Ashram as one of Rishikesh's oldest and most recognisable eateries. Instantly spotted by the giant statue of a turbaned figure outside, the restaurant built its reputation on chole bhature, a plate of fluffy fried bread paired with spiced chickpea curry. Waiters dressed in matching traditional outfits add to the theatre of the place. Decades of consistency have made it a fixture on nearly every visitor's food itinerary through the town.
