Jaigad Fort, known historically as the Fort of Victory, stands on a cliff above the point where the Shastri river meets the Arabian Sea. Built in the sixteenth century and later maintained as a strategic western coast outpost, it now falls under Archaeological Survey protection. A lighthouse on its westernmost bastion gives visitors panoramic sea views, and the drive to reach it passes several scenic beaches.
