Kumbhalgarh Fort was built by Maharana Kumbha of Mewar in the 15th century and sits atop the Aravalli hills about 24 km from Ranakpur. It is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the most imposing fortifications in Rajasthan. Its perimeter wall stretches 36 kilometres, making it the second-longest continuous wall in the world after the Great Wall of China. The fort is the birthplace of Maharana Pratap and encloses 360 temples, palaces, and the elegantly decorated Badal Mahal tower. An evening sound-and-light show brings its Rajput history to life for visitors.
