Venu Vana, or Bamboo Forest, was a grove gifted to Buddha by King Bimbisara and is remembered as the location of Buddhism's first monastery, Venuvana Vihara. Today it survives as a landscaped park with bamboo groves, walking paths, and a small Japanese temple nearby, offering a quieter, more contemplative stop than Rajgir's larger monuments. Its historical link to Bimbisara's early patronage of Buddha makes it a key stop on any tour tracing the town's Buddhist roots.
