Naga Pahar

Naga Pahar, meaning Snake Mountain, is the rocky hill range that forms the natural divide between Pushkar and Ajmer. The hills are covered with scrub forest and are considered sacred, with small shrines and temples dotting the slopes. A trek over the hills from Pushkar to Ajmer and back is a popular activity that takes about 3 to 4 hours and offers views of both towns, Pushkar Lake, and the Ana Sagar Lake in Ajmer. The hills are home to peacocks and various bird species. The walk is best done in the early morning or late afternoon to avoid the heat.
