Vishrambaug Wada was the town residence of Bajirao II, the last Peshwa, in the early 19th century. The 20,000 square foot mansion is best known for its finely carved wooden entrance and the long balcony on the street front, among the best surviving Peshwa period woodwork in Pune. Today it houses a post office on the ground floor, municipal offices and a small museum of Maratha history. The street facade has been restored.
