St Mary's Church in the Pune Cantonment was consecrated in 1825 by Bishop Reginald Heber and is the oldest church in the Deccan region. Built for the British garrison, it has a simple classical design with a tall steeple, and its walls are lined with memorial tablets to soldiers and their families. It still holds regular services, and the old trees around it make the compound one of the quietest corners of Camp.
