Omkareshwar Temple stands on the bank of the Mutha River in Shaniwar Peth, at the edge of the old city. Built in the 18th century during the Peshwa period, it is dedicated to Shiva and has a tall stone shikhara rising above the riverside. It is busiest on Mondays and on Mahashivratri; Shaniwar Wada is a short walk away.
