Bund Garden, officially Mahatma Gandhi Udyan, lies along the Mula Mutha River next to the Fitzgerald Bridge. It takes its name from the bund, or weir, across the river that Sir Jamsetjee Jejeebhoy paid for in the 19th century to give water to the poor of the city. Families come for evening walks, and the river here attracts herons, egrets and other water birds in winter. Koregaon Park and the Osho resort are a short drive away.
