Bhuleshwar Temple stands on a hilltop near Yawat, about 50 km east of Pune, on the site of an old fort. From outside it looks plain, with walls that resemble a fortification, but the inside is covered in detailed stone carving, including friezes of figures from the epics and of gods and goddesses. Shiva is worshipped in the sanctum, and the temple is busiest on Mondays and on Mahashivratri. The drive up the hill gives wide views over the countryside.
