Chimi Lhakhang on its hillock near Lobesa.
Chimi Lhakhang was built in 1499 on a low hill near Lobesa, at a site blessed by Drukpa Kunley, the unconventional 15th century saint known as the Divine Madman. It is visited by couples hoping for children, who receive a blessing from the monks. The walk from the road through rice fields and the village of Sopsokha, with its phallus paintings on house walls, is part of the visit. Dress modestly and remove shoes inside.
