Swaraj Bhavan

The original Nehru family home in Prayagraj donated to the Congress in 1930, now a museum preserving the history of India's independence movement.

Swaraj Bhavan in Prayagraj is the original home of the Nehru family, donated by Motilal Nehru to the Indian National Congress in 1930 as the headquarters of the freedom movement. The building was renamed Swaraj Bhavan (House of Freedom) to reflect its new role as the nerve centre of the independence struggle. Today it serves as a museum preserving the history of the Nehru family's contribution to India's independence, with photographs, documents, and personal artefacts on display. Adjacent to Anand Bhavan, the combined site offers a comprehensive picture of the Nehru legacy in Prayagraj.
