Within the 133-acre Alfred Park in Civil Lines stands the memorial marking the exact spot where revolutionary freedom fighter Chandra Shekhar Azad made his final stand on 27 February 1931. Surrounded by British police and refusing to be captured alive, he fired his last bullet at himself aged just 24. A large bronze statue of Azad now stands at the site, and the park was renamed in his honour after independence. The memorial is a deeply moving tribute to his fearless resolve.
