Akshayavat, meaning the immortal banyan tree, is one of the most sacred sites in Prayagraj, located within the Allahabad Fort. According to Hindu belief, this ancient tree has survived every cosmic dissolution and is mentioned in the Puranas and Ramayana. The tree is said to have been visited by Lord Rama and Sita during their exile. Devotees believe that offerings made here bring eternal merit, and the site draws pilgrims year-round, especially during the Kumbh Mela.
