Sarangkot

Ridge above Phewa Lake for sunrise over the Annapurnas and paragliding launches.

The Annapurna range seen from Sarangkot.

Sarangkot is a hill village on the ridge north of Phewa Lake at about 1,600 m. The viewpoint near the top is the classic place in Pokhara to watch the sun light up Dhaulagiri, the Annapurnas and Machhapuchhre, with the lake and town below. It is also the main launch point for tandem paragliding flights that land at Lakeside. Go up before dawn for the clearest views; cloud often closes in by late morning. A small entry fee is charged at the viewpoint.
