Bindhyabasini Temple and its courtyard in Pokhara.

Bindhyabasini Temple is one of Pokhara's oldest and most visited Hindu temples, on a small hill in the old part of town. The white shikhara shrine is dedicated to Bhagwati, a form of Durga, and the courtyard also has smaller shrines to Shiva, Ganesh and others. Stone stairs lead up from the road. Saturdays and Dashain see long queues of devotees and animal sacrifices, which some visitors prefer to avoid. On clear days there is a view of Machhapuchhre from the courtyard.
