Karpaga Vinayagar Temple in Pillayarpatti, Tamil Nadu, is an ancient rock-cut cave temple dating back to the 8th century CE. Dedicated to Lord Ganesha as Karpaga Vinayagar (the wish-fulfilling Ganesha), the temple houses a remarkable six-foot-tall idol of Ganesha in a unique seated posture, carved directly from the rock. The temple is one of the Ashta Vigneshwara temples of Tamil Nadu and is believed to be the place where Ganesha granted the boon of liberation to his devotees. The ancient cave structure, sacred tank, and Dravidian gopuram make it a significant heritage and pilgrimage destination.
