Sangameswara Temple

Sangameswara Temple is among the oldest major shrines in the Pattadakal group, built under Vijayaditya in the early 8th century. Its square Dravida plan without a full sukanasika shows an earlier stage before Virupaksha's richer elevation. The temple sits on the main river-facing line of monuments, so it is easy to include without a detour. Use it as context for how the coronation capital's architecture evolved across a few decades.
