Nagni Temple

An ancient snake goddess temple about 16km from Pathankot, famous for its August Saturday fair.

Around 16 kilometers from the city, Nagni Temple is dedicated to the Hindu serpent goddess Nagni Mata and ranks among Punjab's older pilgrimage sites. Local belief holds that water rises naturally from beneath the spot where the goddess's idol is placed, and that it can help cure snake bites when combined with mud from the temple grounds. Every Saturday in August, the temple hosts a large fair that draws pilgrims and visitors from across the region.
