The National Museum building in Paro.
The National Museum occupies Ta Dzong, a 17th century watchtower above Rinpung Dzong, and a newer building beside it. Exhibits cover thangka paintings, festival masks, bronze statues, textiles, arms and natural history, and the setting gives a fine view over the Paro valley. It is a good first stop to understand the dzongs and festivals you will see later. Photography is restricted inside the galleries.
