Prayer flags and a shrine at Chele La pass.
Chele La is the pass on the road from Paro to the Haa valley, at about 3,990 m, one of the highest motorable passes in Bhutan. Lines of prayer flags cross the ridge, and on clear mornings there are views of Jomolhari and down into both valleys. Short walks along the ridge lead through rhododendron and juniper. The altitude is high, so walk slowly if you have just arrived from India, and carry warm layers in every season.
