Panipat Museum, officially the Panipat Battles Museum, brings together weapons, sculptures, pottery, documents and enlarged photographs of miniature paintings connected to the three battles fought at Panipat between 1526 and 1761. Exhibits trace the archaeology, art and craft traditions of the wider Haryana region alongside the military history that made the city a turning point in Indian politics three times over. The museum offers useful context before visiting the actual battle sites scattered around the city.
