Shri Gopalkrishna Temple

Shri Gopalkrishna Temple crowns the hillock called Govardhan Parvat in Pandharpur and is dedicated to Lord Krishna in his Gopala form. The structure resembles a small fort and contains underground chambers that tradition associates with Krishna's presence. Pilgrims consider a visit here essential to the full Pandharpur experience, and the elevated site gives views across the town and the Chandrabhaga bend. The kitchen and grinding area within the premises are held to have been used by Krishna himself, deepening the temple's mythological identity.
