Rukmini Temple

A separate riverside temple dedicated to Rakhumai, the consort of Vithoba, considered essential to the Pandharpur pilgrimage.

Rukmini Temple, about 2 km from the main Vitthal Mandir along the Chandrabhaga bank, is the independent shrine of Rakhumai, the consort of Vithoba. Rukmini is worshipped here as an incarnation of Goddess Lakshmi and as the divine mother of all devotees. The Varkari tradition considers a visit to Rukmini's temple incomplete without also visiting the main Vitthal Mandir, as the two deities are understood as inseparable. The temple's carved stone architecture and riverside setting make it a peaceful counterpart to the busier main complex.
