Nelliyampathy Hills

A tea and coffee estate hill station often called the poor man's Ooty, reached by a winding forest drive.

Nelliyampathy is a hill station about 60 kilometers from Palakkad town, wrapped in tea, coffee, and cardamom plantations across the lower Western Ghats. The drive up passes through dense forest checkpoints and offers glimpses of monkeys and birdlife before opening onto cooler air and sweeping views of the Palakkad plains. Pothundy Dam marks the entry to the hills, and the area's several viewpoints and estate trails make it a popular weekend escape from the heat of the Palakkad gap.
