Dhoni Waterfalls lies about 15 kilometers from Palakkad town on the northern edge of the Western Ghats, fed by streams that eventually flow into Malampuzha Dam. The falls themselves are modest in size, but the surrounding forest and the three hour trek required to reach them are the real draw for hikers. A checkpoint at the base restricts alcohol and vehicle access, keeping the trail a quieter alternative to the more crowded Malampuzha stretch nearby.
