Pachmarhi is Madhya Pradesh's only hill station, nestled in the Satpura Range at 1,067 metres. Known as the Queen of Satpura, it features ancient Bhimbetka-style cave paintings, dense forests, cascading waterfalls, and the sacred Chauragarh temple.

Why visit

Madhya Pradesh's only hill station is a year-round escape. October to February is pleasantly cool for Bee Falls, Pandava Caves, and Priyadarshini Point. March to June is a popular plains summer escape when temperatures stay between 22-35°C.

Keep in mind

April to June is peak season - roads to Pachmarhi from Pipariya fill up and hotels charge premium rates. Book ahead.

Nights can drop near 4°C. Misty mornings are atmospheric but some viewpoints have limited visibility.

How to Reach Pachmarhi

Intercity connectivity and travel options

Bhopal airport (~200 km) or Jabalpur airport (~275 km) are nearest major airports. Pipariya railway station (~55 km) on the Mumbai-Howrah Central line is the nearest railhead with onward road transfer.

MP Tourism buses and private taxis for viewpoints (Dhupgarh, Priyadarshini, Bee Falls). Walking on Mall Road and market area. No app cabs in remote forest zones.

Pachmarhi viewpoints and forest zones require MP Tourism or forest department permits for entry - arrange at the checkpost on arrival.
