The 4th Jyotirlinga of Shiva, enshrined on an island shaped like the sacred Om symbol.

Omkareshwar Jyotirlinga Temple on Mandhata Island is one of the twelve Jyotirlingas and the reason millions of pilgrims converge on this small town in Madhya Pradesh. The island itself is shaped like the Sanskrit syllable Om when viewed from above, conferring extraordinary sanctity on the entire landmass. The five-storeyed temple complex houses the Omkareshwar Linga along with shrines to Mahakaleshwar, Siddhanath and Gupteshwar. A spacious assembly hall supported by 60 pillars fronts the main sanctum. Mangal Aarti begins at 4:30 AM and Shayan Aarti concludes the day at 9:30 PM.
