Kumbhalgarh Fort, a UNESCO World Heritage Site about 50 km from Nathdwara, is the second largest fort in Rajasthan and home to a wall stretching 36 km around its perimeter, often called the Great Wall of India. Built by Rana Kumbha of Mewar in the 15th century at a strategic height in the Aravalli Range, the fort contains over 360 temples, a palace complex and commanding panoramic views reaching as far as the Thar Desert on clear days. It was also the birthplace of Maharana Pratap. An evening light-and-sound show narrates the fort's history.
