Haldighati

The historically charged mountain pass where Maharana Pratap fought the Mughals in 1576, with a museum and memorials.

Haldighati, about 17 km from Nathdwara, is the narrow mountain pass in the Aravalli hills where Maharana Pratap of Mewar fought the Mughal forces of Akbar in June 1576. The soil here has a distinctive turmeric-yellow hue from which the pass takes its name. The site is now home to the Maharana Pratap Memorial Museum, a wax museum, the Chetak Smarak commemorating Pratap's loyal horse, and a blood-red soil section called Rakht Talai marking the battlefield. The pass is a deeply emotive site for Rajputs and a significant stop on the heritage circuit between Udaipur and Nathdwara.
