Sundar Narayan Mandir is one of Nashik's oldest and most revered temples, located near the Ahilyabai Holkar Bridge on the banks of the Godavari River in Panchavati. Dedicated to Lord Vishnu as Sundar Narayan (the beautiful Lord), the temple dates back several centuries and features fine stone carvings and traditional Hemadpanthi architecture. The riverside location makes it a particularly atmospheric place for prayer during the early morning and evening aartis. It is one of the important Vaishnava temples on Nashik's pilgrimage circuit and sees large numbers of devotees during the Kumbh Mela held in Nashik.
