Intercity connectivity and travel options

Srinagar airport (~60 km) is the nearest. Kangan town on NH1 is the practical road approach. Road from Srinagar via Kangan to Naranag takes about 2 hours.

Hired taxis from Kangan (~15 km) or Srinagar (~60 km). No public transport to the ruins. Trek on foot for Gangabal Lake from Naranag.

Quick Tip

Naranag is accessible only in summer - the road from Kangan gets narrow toward the ruins and the last stretch needs a sturdy vehicle.
