Surya Mandir stands close to the university ruins and is dedicated to the Sun God, though its sanctum also enshrines several Buddhist figures, reflecting the layered religious history of the area. A five foot idol of Goddess Parvati is among its most notable images. The temple's blending of Hindu and Buddhist iconography under one roof makes it a small but telling stop for understanding Nalanda's syncretic past.
