Old Samosharan Temple Pawapuri

A quieter Jain temple near Jal Mandir, built in a circular form recalling ancient preaching halls.

The Old Samosharan Temple sits opposite the more famous Jal Mandir at Pawapuri, easily overlooked but historically significant in its own right. Its circular, beehive shaped structure recalls the Samosharan, the divine preaching hall said to have been created whenever a Tirthankara attained enlightenment. Visitors who linger past the main temple often find this quieter shrine more contemplative and less crowded.
